Mount Waverley Primary School
Mount Waverley Primary School is a school of approximately 800 students situated in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs. Mount Waverley Primary School is proud of its long history of providing quality educational opportunities for students and welcomes students from a diverse range of social and cultural backgrounds.
Students are involved in a variety of academic and artistic programs. Our whole school approach to English and Mathematics assists our students in developing a life-long love of learning whilst developing collaborative skills. During these sessions, students increase their understanding through a variety of small group, whole group and individual instruction, designed to cater for specific learning needs whilst encouraging each-and-every student to become independent readers, writers and problem solvers. Students in our Year 4 to 6 classes have to opportunity to participate in our 1:1 computing program and our junior classes have access to laptops and iPads. Our school also has the following dedicated specialist teachers, Physical Education, Art, Music, Science, Japanese, Library and EAL (English as an Additional Language).
MWPS offers a variety of extra-curricular activities including international exchanges (ISSE), dance, choir, musical instruments and extension programs. Students also participate in camps from years 3- 6, swimming and are encouraged to take on leadership roles and promote student voice through Kids Teaching Kids.
Mount Waverley Primary School students complete their final year of primary school education fully equipped, both academically and socially, for the challenges of their future years of schooling.
