St. Mary School
St. Mary School is located five miles north of downtown Cincinnati in a neighborhood called Hyde Park. It is a parochial elementary school with a student population of approximately 550 in grades Kindergarten through 8. The teaching staff includes 21 full-time teachers and 10 additional teachers who work part-time as classroom aides or aides in the technology department. All classrooms are located in the main school building, which is part of a newly renovated parish campus including a church, parish house and landscaped grotto and plaza honoring the Mary, its patroness. The main building will be the base for the I.S.S.E. delegation.
The school’s philosophy is to educate children, inspire their faith in God, and energize them to reach out to others in the community. The school’s motto, “Love Spoken Here,” represents the school’s dedication to teach children in a loving and nurturing environment. The school environment is designed to foster appreciation of Catholic Christian values in life. St. Mary School uses the creative/critical thinking skills approach to teaching called Talents Unlimited. This method focuses on teaching students a process of effective learning and decision-making they can apply throughout their lives.
The school year is late August to early June.
