Mount View, Australia and Gong Yuan, China; 2010

Our visitors took part in a number of typical ‘Aussie’ experiences. Among other things, they were shown how to throw a boomerang correctly, saw Melbourne from the top of the Eureka Tower, cruised the Yarra River and joined a Year 3 class on their excursion to Toolangi Forest. They were even treated to a guided tour of Healesville Sanctuary by Murrindindi.

An amazing part of the ISSE trip was getting to stay with my host family and fully immersing myself in their way of life. They were extremely welcoming and made me feel comfortable and a part of their family straight away. What made it even more special was that I already had a really good connection with my host, as I hosted her when she visited Australia earlier this year. This trip has been an incredible experience and I have made so many new friends and learnt so much. By Milly (student).
