DESCRIPTION: The philosophy and spirit of our school are founded on the fundamental need to lead students towards knowledge of the basic values of humanity. Here, they are allowed free access to science, arts, language and technology – all fruit of the evolution of human thought.
In our institution we set out to instill in the pupil a lust for knowledge about the spiritual and physical atmosphere, which surrounds him, so creating human beings prepared to reflect on the vital importance of, and careful management of, all our natural resources.
Our sc hool stands for a system of education based on the deepest understanding of the human race and the complete development of intellect.
Founded in 1976, with the objective of offering a high standard of personalized and ever-developing education, we have kindergarten, pre-primary, primary, secondary and high school levels. Throughout school life, are continually improving our academic qualification. Computers and the English language are taught here at all levels, as today these subjects are of utmost importance in the overall development of the student for his place in society. Students have the opportunity to certify their English level through the tests offered by the Cambridge University in London; Preliminary English Test (PET) and First Certificate Examination (FCE) as well as their computer knowledge through the Microsoft certification exams.

Kindergarten – As early as three years old, infants benefit from a fully bilingual education (English/Spanish), while they are offered too, physical education and an equipped play area where they are able to put to full use their physical dexterity.

Pre-primary – At five years, youngsters learn reading and writing skills in two languages (English/Spanish), develop physical process, and continue with computers and music.

Primary – Pupils at this level benefit greatly from the International Exchanges which are arranged with all parts of the world, while computers, music and physical education continue to be taught, as well as English.

NUEVO CONTINENTE SCHOOL
 


Nuevo Continente is located in the south east part of the city (about 30 minutes from the downtown center. Our students come from middle class families. Most of our community lives in the nearby neighborhood and students are brought to school by car.

Our school is a co-educational, bilingual, non-religious, private school. Our students start in preschool at the age of 3 ( 380 students ) followed by the primary department (1st to 6th , 797 students), the junior high (1st to 3rd , 411 students), and the senior high (1st to 3rd , 213 students).
Our programs provide our students with an excellent bilingual education as well as a complete Spanish curriculum to enhance professional preparation and integrated individuals.Our students work within a framework based on mutual respect, courtesy, and tolerance, in which learning is enjoyable. We promote good habits, instill sound moral principles which together with knowledge constitute the foundation necessary for confident, capable, functional, and self-fulfilled individuals.

Nuevo Continente has been a member of ISSE since 1983. The students involved in the program are 5th graders and usually they are 11 years old. Hundreds of students and families have been benefited by this interchange program.

We prefer visiting in March/April and hosting in February to May, if possible. Our school year begins late August and ends in the middle of June.

THOMAS ALVA EDISON SCHOOL
 


The Thomas Alva Edison School is a private, co-educational, school ranging from Junior Kinder to High School. Its Elementary section, (“TAE”), is located in a nice neighborhood, called Colonia del Valle. TAE serves approximately 500 students in grades 2-7 (ages 7-12) which come from upper middle class families.
TAE is a bilingual (Spanish-English) highly competitive school. Within an atmosphere of friendliness, respect, and self-pride it looks toward the intellectual and physical development of its alumni. Although TAE is a non-parochial school, it appreciates moral values and virtues which it shares with its community.
TAE’s school year is from late August to early July. School hours are 8:00 am to 2:00 pm.
TAE has been a member of ISSE since 1983. It has had exchange programs with countries such as Australia, U.S.A., Costa Rica, and just recently Argentina.


TAE wishes its visiting delegates to get involved with the school’s activities as much as possible. To see to this end, delegates will visit each school classroom. TAE would also like its visitors to present songs, dances, and to share historical, geographical, and social information in a cultural show, presented before alumni, faculty, and parents.
Visiting Delegates should be aware that Mexico has a very rich culture. They will visit many of the city’s highlights. Mexico City is a fascinating and interesting megalopolis! The rainy season is from June to October. Winter months are when the temperatures are lower, or January to March. Otherwise the weather is similar to mountain weather. Cool mornings and evenings, and warm throughout the day.
TAE prefers to visit between April and May. It prefers to host between October and March. We suggest the size of visiting delegations to be of 6 to 8 children and a chaperone, or of 9 to 10 children and 2 chaperones.

INSTITUTO LA PAZ
 


Instituto La Paz is a private, institution located at the northwestern part of México, City.
It has 1000 students: 200 in Kindergarten (ages 3-6 years old, 600 in Elementary School and 200 in Junior High School.
The school year begins the third week of August and ends in early July.
We have two vacation periods ( Christmas break & Holly & Easter Weeks.
Elementary School hours are from 7:30 to 14:10. Junior High ends at 15:00.
It has a strong academic bilingual program, as well as a science & English lab, Computer classes, sports, cheerleaders, Tae Kwon Do and many other activities.
Our goal is not only to give knowledge to students, but to develop the faculty of thought and to have students make their own decisions for a better life.
We’ve been in the exchange program since 1994. Our hosting and visiting time could be from February to June.

        COLEGIO BUENA TIERRA, S.C.
 


Our school, Buena Tierra is located in Metepec, state of Mexico, an hour drive from Mexico City. It's a private coeducational, bilingual school. It includes students in kindergarten up to 9th grade.
Our school calendar is from September-June, having two vacation periods, the last two weeks of December and spring break (Holy and Easter week).
Our students study English from the time they are in preschool thus making them fluent by the time they reach the age to participate in an exchange program.

SCHOOL FACILITIES: We have football, basketball and volleyball courts. There's a computer lab, science lab and a cafeteria.

We have national and international exchanges every year, and would like to send and host 8-10 students.

We are a K-12 institution with three branches currently serving the communities of Mexico City and the City of Cuernavaca in the State of Morelos, Mexico, and since 1980 pioneer members of the International Baccalaureate Organisation in our country

Our school was founded on the principles of world understanding and the shaping and developing of world citizens open to the international community through the knowledge, appreciation and values of our own national tradition, history and cultural heritage.

We can say that the ISSE Organization and Olinca Institute were born at the same time, in 1973, and since then, we have participated in the ISSE exchange program with more than 26 schools from the United States, India, Costa Rica, Australia,  Ecuador, and have also established exchanges with other schools in countries like China, France, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Denmark, El Salvador, Canada, Spain, Philippines, Finland, Cuba, England, Peru, Romania, Russia, Switzerland and the Czech Republic.

Olinca has a distinctive attribute. Our students hold our visiting delegations from all over the world in the highest esteem, and they have always invariably made our visitors feel at home, surrounded by the natural warmth and special endearment of the Mexican folk.

Olinca values and makes productive use of the diversity of cultures and perspectives that exists in both the school and the local, national and global communities to enhance learning. At the same time the adults in our school community demonstrate a commitment to international understanding and responsible citizenship.

ESCUELA AMEYALLI
 


Ameyalli School was founded in 1982 with levels from kindergarten to elementary. We now have junior high and high school. The latter is incorporated to the National University oof Mexico. We are a co-educational institution in which boys and girls learn to live with each other. We are non religious and are oriented to the practice of universal values which promote respect and consciousness of the differences between human beings.
We offer a bilingual education in which the English language is considered a fundamental tool as an answer to actual demands, without forgetting the formation of country values and national identity.
Our aim is to give a flexible project which views each student as an individual, but at the same time is strong in the look for excellency and which is based in the following principle: support that helps students to learn; programs that reflect the real world and its changes; recognition and support to individual needs; continuous promotion so that parents and the school community get involved in the educational process; the teaching of creative thinking, problem solving, and decision making. Our educational project is enriched with the different school services which give a whole education to our students such as: computing as a work tool that prepares youngsters for the technological demands of our time.
Moral values that is an ethical program worked in coordination with the student's home.
Encouragement for reading and use of (Infoteca) which contains videos, movies, etc. All this is aimed to strengthen the research programs.
Physical education is the practice of sports as an essential complement in the formation of our students.
Artistic education is to sensitize students towards the appreciation of music, painting and sculpture.
Camping and visits out of school are to increase the experience of our students and improve their ecological activities, respect and love of nature.
Our teachers are being trained and are always up to date in order to provide their students with thinking abilities so necessary to increase their capacity of learning in a world of quick changes. We also have cultural activities in which teachers, students and parents share and interchange experiences and ideas that allow us to acquire knowledge that benefit us all.

PRINCETON SCHOOL
 


Princeton School is a private, bilingual, co-educational and non-denominational school, located in the southeast section of México City.

Our school population consists of 461 students from Pre-school up through High School level and it was founded in 1980 by Ms. Katia A. Alvarez. We have been a member of I.S.S.E. since 1995 and this has built a strong sense of pride in our school’s community.

Princeton School offers a high academic standard in both languages as well as edifying a positive, friendly atmosphere enabling us to give our students a very personalized attention focusing in their self-esteem and security. Therefore, our school’s philosophy stresses a strong academic environment that strives to meet the needs of all students in a wholesome, nurturing ambiance.

Our school prefers to travel during the months of January/February and host in March/April.  Since our seasons are not well defined, our climate is good all year round, but we are flexible and open to negotiation in order to suit our school partner in case the dates above are not applicable to their needs.
