Strong academic bilingual program, as well as computer education, sports and clubs (cultural and sports ones) are offered throughout all grades. The grade school and high school are located in two different facilities, yet very close to one another. Both of them have cafeterias, Science laboratories, computer labs with Internet, green areas, sports facilities, library, audiovisual aids, auditorium, etc.
Saint Paul was accepted by I.S.S.E. in 1992. The first exchange was held in 1993. We are involved with the Elementary School Program. Our students’ age range is 11-12 years old. They will be starting 6th grade by the time of the exchange.

We prefer to visit in January and to host late March/April. We will send or host 6-10 students in each delegation and one adult who will always be a teacher. During March / April we have sunny, hot weather with some showers.
We expect delegations to be involved with all grades in our school and to be willing to share their culture as well as learning from ours. We would appreciate a presentation for the entire School and individual classroom visits.

        SAINT ANTHONY SCHOOL

DESCRIPTION:

Saint Anthony School, located in Moravia, a small village 5 miles away from the capital city, San José, Central America was founded in 1970.
Surrounded by approximately 4.000 square meters of gardens, it is a private, bilingual (Spanish/English) elementary school with 500 students, and a staff of 30 members. It is not a parochial school. On the other hand, it is run by a group of 10 teachers, an architect and administrator who are member of the board. It has a nice atmosphere where education has a holistic orientation. Our logo: Love, Wisdom, Service, reveals our ideals.

Saint Anthony entered the program of Schools associated to UNESCO in 1982 and since then has worked on human understanding and preservation of our world. Great emphasis is given to creative work in Literature as well as in Science, Math, Music Art and Computer Lab. Great importance is also given to sports. The Student’s Council is elected following the same democratic procedure of our Nation’s government. Our students are oriented towards self sufficiency in their studies.
Saint Anthony joined the I.S.S.E. in 1988. Our main interest is to share experience with other countries and learn about the different school systems, languages other than English, customs, songs, and typical dances.
School year: First week in February – First Week in December. Mid – term vacation: First three weeks in July.

Saint Anthony School would prefer to visit in January and host in March – April.
